There is something magical about getting married in the woods. Kate + Mike were married under a huge oak at the Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee. It is a perfect little forest gem in the city and was one of my favorite wedding venues ever. The shade kept the July heat at bay and there were surprisingly minimal bugs! Not only is the center is completely encompassed within nature in the city, there is a cool restored building for the party and tons of little areas for portraits around the grounds. Kate and Mike love to travel and their love story definitely shows that. They were engaged in Iceland, lived in Chicago, were married in Milwaukee, and moved to San Diego shortly after their wedding. Their wedding day was beautiful mix of classy and casual and the day was genuine to Kate + Mike. They were such a fun and gracious couple and I’m so glad to have been a little part of their beautiful love story!
