Jes + Josh :: Marshfield, Wisconsin Wedding Photography

Things that are wonderful always include seeing two great people and friends get married. Even better is being able to photograph their wedding day! Jes + Josh had a wedding day for the books! It was the weekend in July where there were tornados all over Central Wisconsin, torrential downpours and generally wild weather. The two were getting ready at Hotel Marshfield, where we had planned to do their first look. Following that we were going to head around Marshfield for some more photos. Unfortunately, the electricity went out. Not just a little bit, but ALL of it. At their hotel, at their venue, all over town. I found their rooms through dark hallways and cell phone light. But they carried on getting ready and hanging out with family as laid-back as ever! We moved the family photos inside due to downpours but the hotel was dark. You know, no electricity! I couldn’t plug in my lights for indoor portraits, and it was pretty dark even by the windows. Luckily my always-prepared hubby, happens to always have a generator handy, so with help from him and their amazing coordinator  (Thank you for everything Gabby!) we were able to run my lights off the generator from outside on the hotel’s patio and stay on schedule. The rain stopped momentarily and we headed to the Wenzel Plaza for a few photos before heading to RiverEdge to see these two get hitched!

Jes + Josh had a sweet and emotional ceremony officiated by the bride’s brother-in-law and words from the bride’s mom who had me crying behind my camera! These two sealed the deal with a toast and a kiss and we started the celebration! What a fantastic day! And to top it off… the rain stopped and we had an amazing sunset! Congratulations you two! I hope your marriage is filled with as much fun, laughter, family, friends, sweet words and happy smiles as your wedding day. And maybe not as many severe thunderstorms 🙂
