Kristin + Chris :: Charles City, Iowa Wedding Photography

Kristin + Chris were married in Charles City, Iowa, Kristin’s hometown (and mine!) on a gorgeous May day. It is always fun to head back to hometown weddings in Charles City. Just to give you some small-town history… Kristin and I went to elementary school together and were on the track and swim team together in high school. Not only that, but I had her dad as a coach and teacher, her oldest brother was one of my first weddings (ever!) that I photographed and I have been friends with her middle brother since high school too. So needless to say, it was a huge honor to be asked to photograph their wedding and be part of their wedding day. They couldn’t have picked a better day for their wedding; all the trees were blooming and the rising Cedar River held it’s banks for the day. And speaking of picking the perfect wedding day, Kristin + Chris planned their wedding in three months. Seriously, three months! They got engaged in February and shortly after Kristin was accepted to a program at the University of Iowa that encouraged “no big life changes” (like marriage) which started in the early summer. So, three months later, with the help of family, friends and very efficient wedding planning, they were married during a beautiful ceremony at IC Church and partied the night away at The Clarion in Mason City. It was such a great wedding 🙂 There isn’t much better than to marry your love surrounded and supported by family and friends old and new from all over the country.

It is always so special for me to see someone I have grown up with to be so happy and so in love and to be able to photograph their wedding day. Kristin + Chris are such a wonderful, fun and genuine couple and their wedding day reflected that. Congratulations Kristin + Chris! Many, many good wishes for a long and happy marriage!!!
