On a beautiful August Saturday in Door County, Kirsten + Ben were married! They planned a small wedding with their parents, siblings and grandparents in Ephraim, where Kirsten’s family spent their summers. The two, who currently lived in Boston and NYC, loved coming back to Door County to vacation with family. In fact, they had come every year since they met in college at MIT. Starting the first year, they had signed their initials on Anderson’s Dock. And added their new shared last name to it, with all their guests initialing alongside them. I met Kirsten and Ben at the family cottage. After their family arrived, they had a first look, and waved everyone off in the trolley. We had a bit more time together taking photos around the beautiful property before meeting everyone in town for their ceremony, officiated by the bride’s sister. Both fathers spoke and everyone was invited to be part of their ring warming ceremony. Following signatures on the dock, we headed to dinner at Lure with a quick sojourn out for photos at sunset. They finished the evening with cake, coffee and wine back at the cottage. I loved that these two planned their day exactly how they wanted surrounded by the people most important to them.
